Khan Jahan Style
Abstract
Khan Jahan Ali's architectural achievements in 15th-century Bagerhat (Khalifatabad) are a magnificent tribute to indigenous knowledge founded on climatic responsiveness, local resources, and environmental sensitivity ( Ahmed, 1980 ). These constructions, particularly his mosques, tombs, and municipal infrastructure, not only served religious and social purposes but also demonstrated architectural strategies that are still relevant to today's climate issues. The Khan Jahan Style, exemplifies how traditional methods can influence sustainable and resilient design in the modern era ( Figure B10.1 ).
