Echoes of the past
Abstract
This chapter provides an insight into the need for trauma-informed care, in a high-secure hospital, for men experiencing complex mental health difficulties and psychosis. The authors detail a case study considering the impact of trauma in the development and function of psychosis symptomology, and describe the process and impact of trauma approaches, including eye movement desensitisation and processing on symptoms of mental disorder (psychosis, complex PTSD) and associated risk.
