Decolonisation and the voices of the ancestors
Abstract
This chapter looks at the connections between creative work and activism as a decolonising practice. Asian American independent films have long been an integral element in the organising of community activists across the United States. Similarly, in Taiwan, NGOs such as Taiwan International Workers Association (TIWA) and TransAsian Sisters Association Taiwan (TASAT) also make use of documentary film and other media production to aid in their organising efforts.
