Abstract

I attribute my success in the academy to five general areas related to SDOH research. These areas include rigorous research training with internationally renowned scientists, a passion that drives meaningful research questions, the ability to secure funding to support the research, and most importantly, the skills and knowledge to disseminate the research in peer-reviewed journals. This chapter concludes this text with the story of successes and challenges throughout my career in the academy.
