Sampling Strategies for SDOH Topics in Community Engaged Research
Abstract
Gaining access to underrepresented communities can take years, literally, to develop trusting, collaborative relationships in any community. This chapter describes ways to access community-dwelling African American populations, and for qualitative research projects. Specific topics to be covered include (1) the identification of target populations for SDOH research in underrepresented communities, and (2) the critical examination of determinations of sample size (saturation, informational redundancy).
