Mashiv HaRuach
Abstract
Mashiv HaRuach is a journal for Jewish-Israeli poetry that was founded to encourage a wave of creativity in Hebrew poetry in general and among religious Jewish poets in particular. From the onset, Mashiv HaRuach saw itself as a home for Jewish renaissance and for developing a new creative language. Mashiv HaRuach has partnered with Creating Memory in four major projects meant to further a new creative language for Holocaust remembrance. Since 2019, all the poets associated with Mashiv HaRuach serve as moderators for the poetry workshops run by Creating Memory which enable the younger generation to find a creative and emotional language in which to express their personal narrative of Holocaust memory. In conjunction with Creating Memory, they have also published a special issue of poetry written by members of the Second, Third, and Fourth Generation of Holocaust Survivors. That issue (number 92) chronicles the authors’ journeys to the past, to the memory of the Holocaust, and via the transition that creativity engenders, moves that journey forward into the future.
