Abstract

The Lohamei HaGetaot Kibbutz and its museum Ghetto Fighters’ House were founded by Holocaust survivor members of the Dror movement as a settlement and an educational institution for the human spirit that deals with the memory of the Holocaust and its lessons for a better future. They combine Zionist and humanist values of construction and revival out of brokenness and destruction. For the past three years, Ghetto Fighters’ House has run educational programs utilizing the creative process as per the model of Creating Memory. In the aftermath of the October 7th attack, a new program was produced based on the testimonies of their founders during the Holocaust.
