Abstract

Any meaningful discussion about healthcare must start with its core purpose and patron—patients. At some moment, all of us have been and will be patients navigating the complexities and experiences—both positive and challenging—of the healthcare system we seek to decode in this book. Every stakeholder in this ecosystem focuses on the patient and drives some type of innovation to meet their needs. Despite varied incentives and methods, the ultimate measure of success is how well the system delivers and enhances patient care, making patient outcomes and experience the true benchmark of the system’s effectiveness.
