Organized Providers
Abstract
In the healthcare system, a “provider” is any individual or organization delivering medical services to patients. From independent physicians, nurse practitioners, and therapists, to large hospitals and specialty clinics, their primary role is diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients through direct clinical care. In this chapter, we will discuss how providers evolved into the entities we see today, the most important types of providers, and the major factors that drive their decision-making.
