Where Are You From?
Abstract
In this chapter, I discuss my journey of making the UK my home, drawing from an intersectional perspective of being non-binary, bisexual, and from Eastern Europe. I reflect on my feelings of otherness, how these were shaped by Brexit, and the duality of my experiences of discrimination, as well as privilege. I reflect on academia, a demanding sector which has experienced tumultuous changes, where I’ve felt both belonging and exclusion.
