Abstract

This study proves that ecological marketing and sustainable development strategies are integral to spatial governance, moving beyond mere promotional utility. Contemporary European metropolises actively integrate environmental initiatives with communication to achieve fundamental urban transformation. This book highlights the dominance of the concepts “sustainable”, “green”, and “innovative”, while noting a need for standardisation, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe. The future of urban development relies on the synergy between public policy, civic participation, and evidence-based communication. Ecological marketing is thus a source of long-term competitive advantage and a tool for lasting civilisational change, resulting in cleaner air and a better quality of life.
