Psychotic and non-psychotic part of personality
Abstract
The psychotic and non-psychotic parts of the personality tend to become antagonistic, with the psychotic part attempting to assimilate and colonize the healthy part. These two opposing modes of experiencing psychic reality alternate: one is characterized by the omnipotence of thought, where sensory experiences dominate and distort reality; the other involves the mind’s capacity to understand and engage with reality, including its inherent frustrations and limitations.
