Abstract

Often the dreams of psychotic patients not only anticipate the content of the psychosis but also accurately describe the functioning of the psychotic part and its exciting, disorienting power to destroy the patient’s mental health. Giving meaning to these dreams serves to maintain the patient’s unstable equilibrium and prevent him from falling into the delusional maelstrom.
