Introduction
Abstract
When my first book, Boys Don't Try? Rethinking Masculinity in Schools ( BDT? ), was published back in 2019, it wasn't long before I found myself being invited into schools across the length and breadth of the country to talk to teachers about the topics contained within the book. Whether it be advising teachers on how to engage boys in the classroom, helping teachers to better understand some of the mental health challenges that boys face, or getting teachers to confront their own unconscious biases that position boys as academically deficient, schools were eager to work to fix the issues that BDT? highlighted.
