Abstract

Students and families often need help mapping out their future through and after an early college or dual enrollment program. As a newer and non-traditional offering, students and families often do not know the full benefit of bringing college credits to campus for shortening their time to degree. Students do need help navigating the transfer system as well, as without advice and advocacy, their hard-earned credits can be undercounted. Fifth-year early college programs have shown great promise in the states that have adopted them, but lack of consistent funding has made these programs vulnerable to cancellation. Even for students who choose a technical education or entry into a career after high school, dual enrollment credits can give students confidence and an advantage in whatever field they choose.
