Abstract

This chapter introduces the Floraison training program, a multidirectional mentorship initiative designed to cultivate pedagogical leadership in Francophone early childhood education in Ontario, Canada where Francophones are a minority. Rooted in collaboration, inclusion, and community, Floraison supports the professional growth of educators by fostering a culture of co-learning and shared expertise, in a unique form of mentorship that is linguistically and culturally specific. The authors create a fictionalized first-person narrative to describe the experience and the impact of it on many of the participants. This chapter concludes that by offering high-quality, community-rooted professional development in French, the identity and resilience of the Franco-Ontarian community is affirmed and can nurture itself for continued growth.
