Abstract

This chapter explores what happens when the authors invite a group of 30 early-career art educators to take on contemporary art in the form of an art manifesto for a Reggio-inspired mentoring project and attempt to answer the question, what can Reggio-inspired mentoring do and become? The authors describe their four-year project with its experimental approach to mentoring and include their use of responsive provocations and skilled listening to counter neoliberal approaches in education. This chapter concludes by reporting that these Reggio-inspired and non-obedient methods offer ways to creatively address the stolen hundred languages and in making the educators’ lives go from sustainable to fertile, and for many, into leadership roles. To close this chapter, an invitational and interactive provocation is offered.
