Abstract

In the context of self-help groups with illiterate members lacking financial resources, challenges like resistance to change, defiance of group norms, deviant behaviour, and absenteeism lead to financial unsustainability. To address this, change management, capacity building, and social intermediation are crucial for ensuring financial inclusion. This chapter aims to examine the role of social intermediation and change management in overcoming resistance to complying with group norms and fostering financial sustainability within these groups.
