Conclusion
Abstract
In the previous chapter, we engaged with Levinas’s philosophy with a view to deepening an understanding of transcendence. In particular, an ‘in-depth’ approach proved necessary the better to grasp the way that transcendence – via the medium of Levinas’s thought – could have an operational status. Consequently, we can now conclude that transcendence emerges in the Same, in finitude, in Being – in immanence – as a plenitude that cannot be circumscribed.
