Who Are You?
Abstract
What does suicide reveal about how people make sense of their lives? This chapter explores suicidality not just as a symptom of distress, but as a reflection of identity , purpose , and belonging . It examines how individuals relate to themselves, to others, and to their place in the world—and how disruptions in these connections can shape suicidal thoughts. To understand why someone considers death, we first need to understand what makes life feel meaningful.
