Abstract

The aim of this chapter, using an in-depth documentary analysis of relevant and properly selected texts and a feminist epistemology that uses the category of gender as a methodological tool, is to explain the inability of mainstream feminism, be it academic or political, to represent all women (migrants, mestizos, lesbians, transgender, transsexuals …). Inability that constitutes an obstacle to reorient feminist struggles toward a struggle that rejects the sex/gender device to which we are all subjected, and the structural undervaluation that it makes of women’s work, integrated mostly in the very low-income service sector. The criticism of this inability was made clear in the manifesto that was prepared in 2017 “for a feminism of 99%”.
