Abstract

Chapter 2 considers how the classroom environment impacts learners’ attitudes to errors, helping teachers ensure that mistakes can become learning opportunities. It highlights how students’ perceptions of their errors are shaped by how these errors are subsequently treated by teachers, As such, it offers specific, practical recommendations that teachers can take to establish a positive classroom error climate. Furthermore, it provides advice on how teachers can work with parents, to ensure that students see errors as opportunities to learn, rather than crushing disappointments.
