Abstract

This chapter looks at seasons in a social work career. While students and new graduates may seek roles in particular fields, hoping to gain specific experiences, what happens later in one&s;s career? Some social workers specialise in particular fields or develop expertise in particular areas. Later, many seek to pass on and share their experiences and expertise, either taking on social work students, or supervisory roles or embracing the notion of giving back to the community and/or profession. Several voices from the field, at different stages in their careers or in different seasons, consider and reflect on this topic.
