Abstract

Approached through the lens of time, this chapter explores how cultural foresight depends on temporal literacy, the capacity to perceive alignment, lag, and acceleration across generations. Throughout, it employs Culture Mapping, the Futures Cone, and High-Impact/Low-Probability Analysis to examine how temporal frameworks shape generational experience and institutional response. Featuring insights from Gen Z political commentator Aaron Parnas and the UNDP case study, it reveals how youth frame governance, gender, and justice as temporal concerns. These methods show how decoding temporal patterns enables individuals and institutions to co-author futures grounded in generational equity.
