Abstract

Family violence is a persistent global issue, with many interventions prioritising immediate safety and crisis response. However, preventing its recurrence requires a deeper, more transformative approach. This chapter examines the critical role of emotional intelligence (EI) in empowering women to break free from cycles of abuse. By fostering self-awareness, emotional regulation, and social competence, women can better recognise harmful patterns, establish healthier boundaries, and build resilience. Through real-world case studies and practical strategies, this chapter highlights how EI can be harnessed to promote long-term well-being and create safer, more sustainable relationships for women and their families.
