Abstract

This chapter takes the reader on an accessible yet profound journey into how a method – where, beyond words, the body itself begins to speak – became scientifically researchable. In fact, to how the ‘mission impossible’ was yet possible. The author makes a compelling case for preserving an integrative research approach in psychotherapy, one that values not only statistical outcomes but also personal narratives and subjective experiences. Especially in methods like SomatoDrama, the so-called ‘mystical leap,’ the transformation often unfolds through non-verbal channels where conventional research tools fall short. This section presents the key conceptual components behind the development of the SomatoDrama Effect Model, shedding light on how the method's scientific foundation has been gradually constructed. It explores the unique challenge of capturing embodied, experiential change within empirical frameworks and offers a pioneering perspective on how such integrative research can support the long-term professional legitimization and wider adoption of SomatoDrama. Bridging science and pure human experience, this chapter reveals how research can honor the full spectrum of healing. In this chapter, the reader is also given guidance on how to sense and interpret the ten cases through the lens of the SomatoDrama Effect Model.
