Abstract

In this closing chapter, the author offers a forward-looking perspective on the role SomatoDrama could play in bridging psychology and medical care. Reflecting on the findings of a relatively small-scale study, the chapter explores how the method lays groundwork for broader clinical applications – especially in contexts where psychosomatic symptoms are frequently misdirected toward conventional biomedical treatments. With thoughtful nuance, the author highlights the systemic strain such misdirection places on Western healthcare systems, and suggests that a more integrative, embodied therapeutic approach could ease both patient suffering and institutional overload. This chapter is both a critical reflection and an aspirational vision – one that reimagines the future of healing as a collaborative, interdisciplinary space. Referencing Aldous Huxley's ‘Brave New World,’ the author reclaims the phrase not in dystopian terms, but as a hopeful metaphor for a paradigm shift: a beautiful new world where mind and body, science and soul, no longer stand apart but intertwine both in the individual and the collective.
