Abstract

This chapter explores the High Performance Learning Values, Attitudes and Attributes (VAAs). The first part of the chapter looks at the debates in education around values, attitudes and attributes and notes that the need for their development is universally recognised, but the mode of development is less so. It is muddled and fragmented. The second part of the chapter looks at how to develop values and attributes. It takes each of the High Performance Learning VAAs and explores the evidence base outlining what we currently know about each from research and makes suggestions for their development, in conjunction with the ACPs.
