Abstract

The Chinese invented paper in the first century CE; printing began in 770 with wooden blocks, and individual fonts were created later in the 11 th century. The Koreans followed suit in the 15 th century. In the same century, Johannes Gutenberg, a German craftsman and inventor, created a revolution in Europe, originating printing with movable types.
