Singapore's Spiral Laboratory of AI Futures
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming business education, redefining how business schools prepare graduates for an increasingly data-driven and technologically complex economy. This chapter explores Singapore as a case study of AI integration in business education, focusing on institutions at the forefront of this transition, including Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). The chapter is anchored in three key theoretical frameworks: (1) Acceleration-Driven Combinatorial Innovation (ACDI) – AI-driven technological convergence accelerating new forms of business learning; (2) Distributed Cognitive Systems (DCSs) – AI as a collaborative cognitive agent in business decision-making education; and (3) Radical Embodied Educational Ecologies (RE³) – AI-enhanced learning as an interactive, multimodal, and immersive experience. By highlighting Singapore’s AI-powered business education models, this chapter provides insights into scalable, strategic approaches for business schools worldwide, emphasizing the need for AI-driven yet ethically responsible and inclusive business learning ecosystems.
