Branding and event promotion
Abstract
Marketing is the exchange of a good or service for something of value that benefits both the seller and the buyer. Marketing involves the process of pricing, promoting and distributing a product. Both pricing and promoting events are challenging, as the event is an intangible service. Event and tourism marketing are now mostly done online. When marketing events, the benefits, along with the features, are promoted. The public is interested in the values of the organization, so they should be promoted. People expect organizations to also benefit the community. Branding helps visitors make decisions as it is a promise of the benefits they will receive. Developing the brand is a creative process that uses both words and visuals. The goal is to develop brand loyalty and gain repeat visitors. Social media allows the visitor to be part of the branding process. With social media, branding can occur before, during and after an event. Creating an event app will help the visitor navigate the event, but it is also a branding tool.
