Abstract

Effective management is necessary to ensure the event’s success on the designated day. Security should be provided at events to handle any disruptions caused by visitors. Security is also needed in the case of accidents and emergencies. Visitors will expect events to minimize the effect they have on the environment. This includes the types and number of materials that are used, as well as recycling and waste management. While visitors are interested in learning about other cultures, event organizers need to ensure that any representation of other cultures is respectful and accurate. There are creative aspects of events, including deciding on the theme. There are also management responsibilities that include coordinating all event logistical details. Management of the day of the event requires the ability to prioritize and deal with any crisis. Event management takes organizational and interpersonal skills. A detailed agenda will be needed for all tasks, along with completion dates and the name of the person responsible. Using an online template will assist in managing all details so the event runs smoothly. Recruiting qualified employees for the event can be done through local sources. There should be a standard policy used for interviewing and hiring. If independent contractors are used, they will also need to be supervised.
