Abstract

This chapter explores the world of events as a central element of human society and culture. It highlights how event management and design go beyond simple gatherings, functioning as carefully planned experiences that integrate narrative, context, and purpose. The discussion emphasizes that events are not accidental but are intentionally created to foster identity, community, and meaningful interaction. Drawing on historical and contemporary perspectives, the chapter demonstrates how events shape cultural traditions, strengthen social cohesion, and contribute to economic development. It also stresses the role of creativity and innovation in transforming events into immersive experiences that resonate with participants. By analysing the theoretical foundations and practical applications of event design, the chapter provides insights into the significance of events as both cultural expressions and tools for social connection. Ultimately, it presents events as an evolving field that combines storytelling, place-making, and human interaction to create lasting impact in a rapidly changing world.
