Conclusion
Abstract
This closing section explores the idea of home in the collection of plays. The word home is an ambiguous term that can exist as a destination, a place of risk, but ultimately a place of movement (such as a wife becoming a widow). In the case of LGBTQIA individuals, they may see home as something distant, different, or, in the case of some trans individuals, as a place that is blocked by expectation. While home can be seen as a physical location, a more profound explanation is that home originates from a space within the individual. The body is identified and explored as a place of origin and as something that we carry with us as we cross thresholds. As the characters of the plays of TCDL risk, move, fight, defend, and challenge, their bodies and identities shift the relationship to their home. The conclusion returns to the idea of movement presented in the introduction, finalizing the argument of the work: we move, and as such, we are all migrants.
