Abstract

In the previous chapters the historical emergence from the 1970s up to today, the features of the global politics of change, and the principal master frames of global activism were examined. All in all, they provided a comprehensive picture of the phenomena of transnational activism in the last 50 years. Successes and failures, opportunities and constraints were pointed out with the view to better understand the other significant side of global politics, the non-governmental face of it. Now in this last part of the book, I focus on the future conditions for the sustainability of global activism. It is an exercise for future scenarios that I think is essential because we are in a phase of tremendous transformations, which will deeply affect the opportunities for transnational civil society organizations to play a global role the way they have so far.
