Abstract

The information technology (IT) sector is highly specialized and includes computer systems, software, programming languages, data and information processing and storage and information and communications technology. Its activities span R&D, manufacturing and provision of hardware and software, designing and delivering projects driven by change management, training and support and maintenance. Collaborative relationships are strategic and could be buyer/supplier alliances, marketing channels, supply chains, supply networks and provision of in-house IT services. This is a very fast-moving sector, and today, artificial intelligence (AI) is on the horizon; however, in our experience, the fundamental dynamics of collaborative working still apply.
