Abstract

Increasing costs and operational inefficiency in healthcare supply chain have drawn the attention of all professionals within the supply chain. A capable supply chain can provide tighter control and visibility for greater focus on quality patient care. Big Data Analytics (BDA) is increasingly being adopted for the building of an information depository. This analytic process with the use of Big Data tools improves operational efficiency and reduces human errors that can often be deadly. Better healthcare planning can be done by the usage of Big Data. Suitable methods and practices can be used for healthcare data analytics which can help in better decision-making for an increase in the business value and customer interest. However, the usage and applicability of BDA tools in the healthcare supply chain sector are relatively new phenomena as compared to other service sectors like e-commerce and finance.
