Abstract

In the global economy of today, supply chains reaching all ends of the world is the norm. Sourcing materials overseas yields cost efficiencies that often outweigh the risks involved—or so we thought. These risks are highlighted by both man-made and natural disasters when restrictions on travel are put upon moving products along the supply chain. The longer your supply chain, the more severe the ripple effects of the log jam after log jam will be.
