Afterword

A new Afterword has been added to the second edition. It comprises personal notes on the writing process for this book from both authors in their own unique voices. This is in contrast to the other newly added material that was written in one shared voice. The immediacy of the language is very much in keeping with values of today&s;s qualitative research, where anecdotal, qualitative data and subjective accounts are considered valid and useful. The presentation of what is real and true for certain individuals informs the field of human experiences, and by extension has the potential to hone our clinical sensibility.
