Abstract

The prologue introduces the readers to the main themes of the book – understanding and managing anxiety in everyday life, through a blend of psychological insights and personal stories. Using an accessible, conversational tone, the prologue invites readers to engage with the material as both a source of knowledge and a companion in their own journey. It provides the rationale and need for the book through the eyes of the author, framing anxiety not only as a challenge but as a shared human experience. It identifies who might benefit from reading the book and outlines the ways in which they can gain from it. It then describes the book&s;s structure and explains how to use it—as a flexible resource that can be read in individual sections whenever needed. This section sets the scene by drawing on humour and a supportive, vulnerable voice, to help entice readers and urge them to continue exploring further.
