The Stranger in Ourselves
Abstract
Capgras Syndrome provides another vivid example of the experience of nothingness in psychosis. Patients believe that their close relations have been replaced by impostors, exposing a fracture in their perception of reality. This phenomenon reflects a breakdown in the symbolic order, leaving the patient stranded in the Imaginary, unable to bridge the gap with the Real.
