Sketch of an Alternative
Abstract
The lack of a physical substrate for psychosis challenges the reductionist biological paradigm prevalent in modern psychiatry. While neuroleptics play a supportive role, particularly in creating stability, they cannot replace the therapeutic necessity of human connection, proximity, and a listening ear. The alternative model outlined here advocates for a holistic integration of physical and psychological treatments, ensuring that the subject remains central to the therapeutic process.
