Abstract

This chapter is set within the world of classical music. It is focused on the impact of a third person joining an established professional pairing and how the introduction of new ideas and new ways of seeing and being in the world throws a spotlight on differences which at least one of the pair were unaware of. This is a threat on a personal and professional level. The chapter shows how mediation was able to resolve the immediate difficulties and taught the participants skills which they used later
