Money: Minefields and misunderstandings
Abstract
This chapter explores how issues related to money can complicate father–daughter relationships and how to resolve those problems. These issues include paying for the daughter’s college education and her wedding, the impact of growing up with a workaholic dad, and how and why a father should say no to his daughter’s requests for money. The chapter also explains how society’s stereotypes about fathers as breadwinners and our attitudes about love and money work against fathers and their daughters.
