Abstract

The provision of public services in developing countries often requires collaboration between the government and private organisations to meet citizens’ needs effectively. Governments alone may face limitations in funding, expertise, or time, making it challenging to deliver timely and high-quality services. This chapter examines the role of PPPs and the involvement of NGOs in enhancing service delivery, particularly in sectors like roads, hospitals, and schools, as well as in reaching underserved and remote communities. The chapter also explores the importance of government oversight to ensure fairness, transparency, and quality in these partnerships. Its objective is to understand how collaborative approaches, clear objectives, and shared responsibilities can strengthen public service delivery, build trust, reduce costs, and promote overall societal development.
