Abstract

This chapter explores the complex dynamics of values within organizational settings. It underscores how personal, professional and institutional values interact to shape workplace culture, performance and staff wellbeing. The authors outline how values such as respect, honesty and equity are essential for creating positive work environments, while the absence or conflict of values can lead to stress, burnout and toxic cultures. By analysing both the benefits of a values-driven organization and the challenges posed by value clashes, this chapter equips practitioners with a deeper understanding of how their everyday actions reflect broader ethical frameworks. Practical scenarios illustrate how values-based leadership and clear organizational missions can enhance morale and service quality. Ultimately, the chapter positions workplaces not just as functional spaces, but as moral environments that either uphold or undermine the dignity of those within them.
