Epilogue
Abstract
The Avatar franchise through its films, video games, and theme parks seems to replicate stereotypes of Indians while appropriating Indic mythology. Such representations seem to continue the discourses of race and profit that were set in place by the seventeenth-century travel narratives and drama. Modern-day “techno-mysticism” that guides the Avatar franchise becomes a useful site for us to understand how older mechanisms of racecraft still remain operational today.
