Abstract

This chapter introduces the book, particularly the idea of Memetica, a contemporary rhetoric of information. The main concept for this book is introduced, including memetics as a dream of reverse engineering nature and culture, taking a method of heuristic toward everything, suggesting memes as heuristic rhetoric, seeing everything in terms of a complex signifying ecology, sorting out vernacular and specialized versions of information rhetorics, and indicating critiques and applications of seeing everything in terms of memetica.
