Abstract

This chapter synthesises the book’s findings into a doctrinal case for Outer Space Pan-Africanism. It consolidates the findings from the previous chapters. It then sets out the African choice of space regionalism against regional comparators in the EU, Arab world, and Latin America and the Caribbean to evaluate how authority, finance, standards, and benefits are allocated. It then articulates OSPA as a continental integration project rooted in AU norms and practice and develops six guiding principles that define this normative approach to space regionalism. The chapter highlights the strategic tensions that may challenge realisation of regionalism in space and proposes approaches necessary to translate the principles into enforceable administration and credible continental norm-making in space law and policy.
