Abstract

The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a pension scheme designed to give unorganized sector citizens a guaranteed income. This scheme was launched on 9th May 2015. The scheme addresses the financial insecurity faced by individuals, by promoting systematic savings during their working years. It is intended to give unorganized sector workers, who frequently lack access to official pension plans, a stable future. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) is in charge of overseeing the program. Through a thorough quantitative and qualitative examination, this study assesses how APY affects economic empowerment, financial inclusion, and poverty reduction in India. The study examines quantitative data from national financial surveys. The APY has generated an investment return of 8.92% since its inception. This study highlights APY’s revolutionary potential and offers crucial policy recommendations to improve its sustainability and efficacy in fostering equitable growth. This research is concentrated on Delhi’s marginal income group.
